How to integrate Expensemate with Sage

Learn how to prepare and import your transaction data into Sage.

Uploading transaction data into your accounting package enables you to leverage some of the key benefits of using Expensemate, such as optimised VAT reclaims and simplified, diligent bookkeeping. 

In this article, we look at the steps you need to take to prepare and import your transaction data into Sage. 

What you need to do before you start

  • Export your transaction data

Upload your transaction data into your Sage account

  • Log in to the company file on Sage 50.​
  • Click File and then Import - this will open the Data Import window.​
  • Click Next, select Audit Trail Transactions, and then click Next.​
  • Click Browse and select the CSV file that you downloaded from Expensemate.
  • Map your Expensemate data fields to the appropriate fields in Sage, use the dropdown fields to make your selection.
  • Before continuing, make sure the columns are mapped correctly to avoid misaligned data.
  • When you're happy, click Import.

Your CSV transactions will now be imported to Sage 50, you can view them from the Transactions tab.
